Trio of HTC Touchphones Are Set to Stun
This season HTC’s stable of handsets are looking incredibly tasty and all eyes are on the Taiwanese manufacturer as they deliver a trio of handsets to rival the iPhone: HTC Desire, HTC Legend and the HTC HD Mini.
The HTC Legend deals with everything the modern mobilist can throw at it. Or indeed, anything you might care to throw it at – the Legend’s super-sturdy one-piece aluminium shell will see it withstand all manner of physical abuse.
The Desire is next in line for release and from first glance it was clear HTC had spruced up the chassis from their Nexus-One build. In addition to the splendid 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 3.7” AMOLED touchscreen and 32GB SDcard storage, the Desire boasts a sleek optical trackpad, better battery life and higher video recording frame rates.
Despite being a top flight smartphone, cheap HTC Desire deals are already popping up on pre-order. T-Mobile are offering tariffs for as little as £10 per month, although the handset will still set you back around £160 to start with.
Last to come out will be the HTC HD2 – a cut down version of the mighty HD2, which was the first fully skinned version of WinMo and in our humble opinion, the best incarnation of Microsoft’s mobile operating system.
It might not have the beef of the original (that 4.3” touchscreen / 1Ghz Snapdragon combo is a hard act to follow) but the HD2 Mini is a gorgeous little handset that packs as much punch as the Legend, but with a more organisational slant to it’s functions.
Expect to see the HTC HD Mini in the UK late April.
